BATTERIES:<\/strong> Old automobile batteries (lead-acid) may be placed on wooden pallets at the site. Rechargeable household batteries (nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, and lithium Ion) are also accepted, and can be dropped off with the site attendant.<\/p>\n

BRUSH:<\/strong> Brush may be placed in the trash compactors, but cannot be more than four feet long.<\/p>\n

COOKING OIL:<\/strong> Cooking oil is accepted from residents only, in quantities of 5 gallons or less. Do not mix the oil with anything else. Leave used cooking oil with the site attendant.<\/p>\n

OIL & ANTIFREEZE: <\/strong> Antifreeze and used motor oil are accepted from residents only, in quantities of 5 gallons or less. Do not mix these liquids with anything else. Leave used oils and antifreeze with the site attendant.<\/p>\n

PAINT:<\/strong> Used, dried out, LATEX<\/span> paint is accepted at the convenience centers and the transfer station. To dry out your paint, add kitty litter or another absorbent material such as sawdust or mulch, and stir it well until it becomes very thick and will not drip or run. Once you\u2019ve done this, you can leave the lid off and dispose of it in the regular trash. Please note: this ONLY APPLIES to latex (water based) paint.<\/p>\n

Paint that has never been used, or not dried out, can be taken to a VPPSA Household Chemical Collection and Computer Recycling event (see Upcoming Events<\/a>). Also, check with local charities, such as the Cryer Center, to see if they may be able to sell it at their resale store.\u00a0<\/p>\n

RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES AND CELL PHONES:<\/strong> Rechargeable household batteries (nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, and lithium Ion) and cell phones can be dropped off with the site attendant.<\/p>\n

SCRAP METAL & WHITE GOODS:<\/strong> Place in the scrap metal container as directed by the attendant. Refrigerators and freezers must have doors removed before being placed in the container.<\/p>\n

TIRES:<\/strong> Limit of 12 tires per year, per resident, please remove rim<\/p>\n
